The items I have requested will allow me to create learning centers, journals, take home books, flashcards, and so much more! Having items like the Instant Photo Printer, the book binding machine, and cardstock will allow me to cost effectively create, design, print, and bind multiple centers time and time again. In Kindergarten we use a lot of lamination centers because they work great with dry erase markers, which allows multiple students the opportunity to use each center.
Learning is best when taught in real world, hands-on, experiences! I believe that by allowing students the opportunity to physically hold & work with manipulatives, flash cards, books, journals, and so much more! It gives students an advantage and experience that they cannot attain through technology. While I love technology and think it does offer amazing experiences right at our fingertips, I think there is something to be said about holding a book, turning pages, writing on paper with actual pens and pencils, etc.
Having these items in my classroom will allow my students to have the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. They will learn important experiences through technology, as well as learn and enjoy the simple things like writing in journals and turning the pages of a book!
