The materials I am requesting will be put to good use. I teach in a Life Skills special education classroom. My students need a comfortable way to read and escape into their "own worlds" away from the woes and changes going on around them. With the FlexSpace Comfy Floor Seats, my students will be able to spread out around the room or when weather is nice, outside and increase their vocabulary and fluency skills while reading their independent books. We are in school 4 days a week and students are confined to their hard plastic chairs most of the day. These softer chairs will give them a break from the cold, hard chairs. While learning in the classroom, our students must only use their personal materials and those we supply to them. There is no sharing from one student to the next. This makes is difficult when it comes to the limited number of books on their level that we have in our classroom. Student books have to be quarantined for a period of time after students are finished reading them. This makes it more difficult for us to expose our students to more books, reading, and literacy at their level. The leveled books set, will help by giving us more books to circulate amongst the students while other books are being quarantined. Our students have a thirst for reading on their level and I would love to keep that going with a variety of books they can access. By giving my special education students more access to literacy, we hope to prepare them for the world they are growing up in and one day will run! We thank you for your donations!
