Our students study world cultures in 6th grade. The use of donated drums will give them an opportunity to understand those cultures more deeply though music exploration. Students will be able to study and play music from Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
With the use of the drums, our students will learn skills that will help them work as a team. Students will be able learn about musical concepts such as rhythm, structure of music, dynamics, and drum technique. To culminate this study, students will be able to share what they have learned by performing as ensemble for the school.
