My students are lively, energetic five year olds who desire nothing more than to play. Most of them live in buildings with no yards or, because of safety concerns regarding the location of their homes, they are not allowed to play outside. Our school is located in a high poverty area. All students receive free lunches. Even though our school is right across a public park, it is not a park that is conducive to outdoor or family activities. Because of the make up of the community, the children are limited in activities that involve exercise.
