Throughout my fifteen years as a special education preschool teacher, I have come to find that young students learn most effectively when participating in hands-on, engaging lessons. I have students with many disabilities such as visual impaired, hearing impaired, and many medical conditions that affect their fine and gross motor skills. Even with each disability, the energy and excitement they possess is so encouraging. Each of the items listed in this project will be used to add more interactive learning to our classroom and will create the opportunity for my students to participate in center-based learning activities. I would like to add phonics, reading and math manipulatives and games to activate students’ early literacy and math skills. These items will help provide students with the opportunity to further their understanding and engagement in their learning experience. We would be so very grateful if you could help our class community add items to our classroom to help us bridge the gap on learning.
