The only way to become a better reader is to read! Two new novel sets will help me engage the students in reading and improve their comprehension. Kids need stories that they can relate to. These two books, A Long Walk to Water and The Lions of Little Rock, both deal with young adults in a different country and a different time period than the present. My students will learn a lot about the struggles and hardships that others their age have gone through to get them where they are now. My 6th graders will benefit so much from these two stories.
