Students LOVE taking pictures! But most students never do any more than selfies. I would like to teach them how to use a real camera to create artwork. Students will learn how to zoom, compose a picture, and improve their picture-taking skills. Art projects will include zooming in on objects like flowers, positioning the camera to create out of proportion photos, and showing mood. Students will learn how to work together in groups of two to take, critique, and edit the pictures. This experience will hopefully inspire the students to continue on learning about photography in our high schools and as an occupation. My students will love using this new media in their artwork!
