Establishing the love of literature is important to a students' success. It impacts all subjects and improves their abilities to problem solve. In our classroom, I read on the carpet to them, have them read aloud to the class, and allow students to read independently! Making students comfortable is the first step to motivating them in the classroom.
By creating a reading nook in my room, I hope to establish a practical way for students to enjoy the love of reading and improve their literacy. The materials purchased will help create a place for students to go and escape the world around them. It all provides a comfortable area that helps establish dreams, promote learning, and allow for students to know that there are endless possibilities when it comes to their imagination. I am excited to see them embrace the love of reading!
