I am interested in providing my students the opportunity to access online mathematics content. Math is often a subject that students struggle with. Opening their eyes to the world of mathematics beyond worksheets and packets will give my students a whole new outlook on their future careers. Actually seeing math "come alive" via technology would be priceless to my students.
As a high school math teacher, I often hear my students say they would love to go to college, but they are afraid of the math courses they would have to take. We also hear from local colleges that a high percentage of incoming students need remedial college math courses that do not even count as math credits. Being able to show my students the resources available to help them with all levels of mathematics would significantly improve their mental attitude towards college math. Mathematics via online learning and tools will erase their fear and allow them to feel much more comfortable with the subject.
