Having the ability to have things printed in color makes such a difference in the engagement of my young students, especially with visually challenged or children with other disabilities. Plus, all kids feel extra special when they have things handed to them in color. It's like the wow factor for them.
We are in the middle of our poetry unit, and being able to print my students' poems they've written in color has made them feel so proud of their work and art. Color rules in our room!
I think all students and teachers should have at least the basic opportunity to have the use of a color printer in their classroom. Most of my student don't have computers, not to mention printers, at home. I want to be able to show them how their work, and learning, can be enhanced by the simplicity of having color.
