PicassoTiles are by far one of my favorite STEM items. The students love them and spend hours playing with them if they could. PicassoTiles are very colorful and have magnets along their edges, which allow children to build any types of structures they want (homes, castles, cars, flowers, shapes). For younger children, this encourages them to learn their colors, allows them to sort by shape and color (used for math skills), helps them recognize shapes and understand sizes. PicassoTiles provide students with all types of learning benefits from critical thinking and problem solving to improving hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, not to mention PicassoTiles also aid with social-emotional development.
Some students struggling with sensory issues, attention and focus, motor planning, spatial awareness and fine motor skills greatly benefit from Picasso Tiles.
The possibilities to build and create are endless. My students will be able to incorporate math and science into what they build. I will make these materials accessible to everyone in the classroom by using them as a rotation work station and during Math and Social Skills Group time. With your help they will work together to build something amazing!
