I teach music at our Early Childhood Center and service over 500 students. When the children come to my room they are involved in a variety of activities from singing to playing instruments, to listening to music while creating artwork. When the students aren’t participating in movement activities and hands on activities, they sit on the carpet I have in my room. However, the carpet I currently have is old and only has places for 20 students so at least 3-5 students are left to sit on the bare floor. If my project is funded, it will provide seating for each student in every class. No one will feel less a part of the group. Whether they are singing together, listening to music, or a book that I read to them, they will each one have their own comfortable space in which to sit.
