In my classroom, students independently read books daily. They are required to reach certain goals every month. Having a multitude of books for them to choose from is very important.
I have spent thousands of dollars of my money building my classroom library so I can make sure to have books they are interested in reading. Continuing to expand my library and varieties of books is something I feel I must do in order to ensure all students a quality reading experience.
I believe students shouldn't be penalized for the schools not being well-enough-funded. They shouldn't have to settle for books that don't spark their interest or get them excited about reading.
