Having three iPads in our 2nd grade classroom will make a huge impact on the students' 21st century learning skills. We will use these iPads to learn how to code. Coding is a basic literacy in the digital age. Learning to code will help the students gain skills such as sequencing, problem solving, math concepts, communication, creativity, as well as perseverance so that they will become better readers, writers, and mathematicians.
Having children learn coding at a young age prepares them for the future.
With these iPads, the students will create meaningful projects about something that they are passionate about. They will be able to share it with peers in their classroom and also around the world. Students will be encouraged to play or tinker with their creations so that they will take risks and learn from their failures. I am excited to give this opportunity to my deserving students.
