Imagine a classroom with soft cafe lighting, with just enough sunlight peaking through. Then imagine a reading nook where one can get lost in a book (fiction or informational). Spaces where students can learn on standard height desks and chairs, while others can work on the carpet. Then of course, a space for small group instruction for learners who need extra support.
In this classroom, my students enjoy learning in a calm environment as we navigate through all things ELA and life: writing and speaking to communicate, and reading and listening to build empathy :) "Welcome to C202, where together we build dreams and more importantly, you!"
