Some students get nervous while taking a test. "Is someone looking at me?" "What if I'm the last one finished with my test?" Other students can get really distracted. "I wonder why so-and-so is staring off at the ceiling?"
Privacy partitions help the students to feel like they are in their own little bubble- their own corner of the classroom, if you will. Behind the folder, they can take their time, focus on their test, and do their best before turning in their assignment.
Other times, groups work together to create something, and they don't want others to see what they have come up with, so they need a way to hide it.
