The supplies on my list will allow me to use new and creative ways of teaching suitable to different learners, and provide a "fun" environment for the students. The Osmo Genius Kit for iPad is an interactive way for students to develop problem solving skills and can be used as a resource for students requiring special needs in spelling and counting as well as an incentive for other students because of the Tangrams game that comes with it. I also want to incorporate flexible seating which will allow students to channel energy in a non-disruptive way to enhance learning. This is where the Stay-N-Play Children's Balance Balls come handy as well as the Butterfly Craze Floor Lounger covers that can be stuffed with pillows for children to be able to get cozy while learning. The dry erase materials allow for me to use different approaches when teaching material such as new vocabulary; students can use the lap whiteboards to practice writing and spelling in a way more engaging than using notebook paper. Other supplies on my list will allow for organization that can help students perform basic tasks independently.
"My goal in the classroom was always to make sure they were having so much fun that they didn't realize they were learning." - Rick Riordan
School should be a place of adventure and creativity which I am trying to create in my classroom. Help my classroom be anything, but boring! Give my students the opportunity to grow and explore.
