This class has an amazing group of children who are eager to participate but they don't possess the verbal skills or motor ability to engage in traditional learning platforms. These assistive technology devices will allow them to learn cause/effect relationships, interact with peers/staff and feel a sense of empowerment and joy.
The communication devices will be used to give them a voice to answer questions, tell about an event in their life or greet peers/staff.
The switch activated toys will give them a means to develop cause/effect relationships as well as a sense of ability in that they can impact the environment. And of course this sense of control and impact will bring JOY which is always a desired "side effect" in our learning experiences.
