These essential supplies will help my students develop fine motor practice at home during this time of distance learning. Most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and need assistance with these basic school supplies. Funding for this project would greatly help the families of my community. Additionally, in these uncertain times, having these supplies will help my students have some sense of normalcy with their schooling. Handwriting fine motor practice is an essential skill in early childhood education. In my class, we will be using these materials to practice writing alphabet letters, numbers, and names. Students additionally will be doing at home art projects where they will need crayons and scissors to assist in the completion of their projects. The main focus of my distance learning this year is social-emotional learning/PBIS. Having journals will tremendously help my students not only practice their writing but also track their emotions during this time. These materials will help my students succeed in distance learning.
