Our students will benefit from these new materials by understanding and exploring their emotions. They will learn how to use the materials to help children manage stress, anxiety, and trauma.
Many children in our classroom come from traumatic environments early in their life. Helping them overcome their fears by allowing them to explore emotions in a safe and calm spot will give them better confidence in themselves. Teaching them how to deal with their emotions while exploring new tactile materials, playing with the sensory windows, or even listening to nature sounds will help sooth them. Once they are able to get past their emotions together, we can work on returning to the group and setting them up for a greater experience in the classroom.
