These books will provide my students with a literature-rich classroom. I have worked hard over the years to develop a large classroom library for my middle school students. As I transition next school year to teaching younger grades, I want them to have access to high-interest texts at their reading levels. I have enjoyed seeing the excitement students show for new books and I am looking forward to seeing that same excitement with my younger students.
The best way for students to develop literacy skills is reading as much and as often as they can. The best way for my students to become interested in reading is by reading books they find interesting and exciting. Students love being the first to read a new book and being able to share their favorite books with their peers. This project will help students become strong independent readers and foster a lifelong love of reading.
