Getting new novels into the class library will provide students with a plethora of stories to choose from. Every class period starts off with ten-to-twelve minutes of silent reading, and at the end of each quarter students have to do some sort of book review for the class. Reading has such a heavy emphasis that students throughout the year eventually get their hands on a book that they like.
These stories will enrich their minds and show them that a good book can be more captivating than a TV show or video game. Help show them the worlds that will open up to them when they open a book.
