Currently my student have a variety of different seating set up in our classroom. Sadly though all seating that is lowered to the floor is without comfort. The students either kneel or sit on the hard ground. I would love to provide them with a better, more comfortable option. If I can get them comfortable I can get their attention for longer periods of time.
Being in a resource room is stressful enough. These students are not only focusing on grade level work but they are spiraling backwards in order to fill any missing gaps.
With a resource room their is a wide variety of needs. Some of those needs can be met with the bouncy bands, headphones, fidgets, and comfortable chairs to sit in. I want to neutralize a stimulating environment and create a space my students find comfort in.
