Student ownership and choice is a vital part of my teaching practice. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their own learning and choose a seating option that works best for them and their learning. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. My project includes three different types of seating. I want to create a classroom environment that feels like home. I am a first year teacher and I currently only have desks and seats that the school provides. I want my students to feel at home at all times during the day and have comfortable seating that will motivate them and give them comfortable places to work and learn.
