With having a play-based curriculum, the Block Center is one of the most popular centers in our classroom. I was given some MagnaTiles when I started teaching in my room but unfortunately they are older and we don't have enough for more than two students to play with them.
My students learn so many valuable lessons while playing with blocks. They learn sharing, math, and science. Students learn new math vocabulary such as sphere, cube, prism, etc. They are constantly problem solving to see how many blocks they need to build their idea before it falls over.
My students are so creative that I cannot wait to see what they come up with while working together!
