As my priority is for my students to start their day in a peaceful, centered, and energized manner we begin each day with Yoga, Sun Salutations and more.
My nontraditional learning space is set up to continue this centering by grounding students throughout their day. Traditional desks are removed and students each have 2'x3' table that is about 1'-1.5' off the ground, bolsters will be used to sit at their table to work. Bolsters and blankets will also be used during our morning Yoga as well as our mid-day meditation. In addition, they provide alternative seating when the entire class is engaged in whole group lessons and activities all the while helping to keep students emotionally grounded as they are physically grounded.
