These products will help my students engage in Nevada Academic Content Standards by getting hands-on experience with their Reading, Writing, and Math Standards. Most of my students have significant gaps in their reading comprehension due to the pandemic, so these materials will help in closing their gaps and getting them reading on grade level.
All of the supplies I have selected will help my students reconnect with school for the first time since they were in kindergarten, 3 years ago. By having hands-on materials, they will become more engaged in their learning and willing to experience the productive struggle. The organizer is going to make accessing materials my students need much easier. It also is going to make the classroom less cluttered, so students will be able to focus. My classroom is Harry Potter-themed, so my class is very excited to read the first book so they can truly enjoy the experience I have created in my classroom. I fell in love with reading when I was in the 4th grade because my teacher introduced us to Harry Potter, and I want to do the same for my kids. The easel is going to make small group much more interactive and hands-on. The easel is going to help with students showing and explaining their thinking. It is going to help make learning more fun and hands-on.
