The world we want begins with a compassionate and empathetic upbringing of our children. We all want a kinder and more accepting world, right? With the power of books, my students will have the power to learn more about the people in their world. I have chosen books that focus on immigration, the refugee crisis, disabilities, socioeconomic issues, culture, and being kind to one another overall, among others. My students will learn that the world is a diverse place. They will undoubtedly develop empathy and compassion as they immerse themselves in these books. Help me help them. With gratitude, Erika
