The materials I have selected will be used to create a maker station where children can be creative while working to solve problems. These materials will work on many necessary skills including STEAM, social emotional, fostering learning through inquiry, and support mental rigor.
These materials will give my students confidence to think out-of-the box and explore materials in a new way. Many of our students do not have access to these type of materials, or are not afforded the opportunity to work freely with them.
I hope to provide a space where students are encouraged to question, gives them the opportunity to experience how things work, and the emotional support to try again should their idea not work.
