With the help of my amazing special education team at YPS, last school year I had the opportunity to create a sensory room in a small room off of my classroom with various sensory items such as a swing. This area has provided my students will a safe place to help regulate their bodies in order to be successful learners. Now that I have these sensory tools in place, I want to provide my students with these flexible seating options to help fulfill my goal of supporting each students' unique learning abilities.
I want to give students the opportunity to advocate for their own learning needs and flexible seating will allow students to do this!
With these new materials, each student can ultimately thrive socially, emotionally and academically within my classroom.
