COVID-19 school closures meant that students were not able to physically be on school campuses. They were not given access to recess or physical education classes. While PE was taught online, students were not given the opportunity to play and interact with materials. Returning to school, I have noticed that the physical activity level of the majority of m students has decreased tremendously since the closure.
New materials in the physical education classroom engage students and make them excited about fitness and physical activity. With these new materials, we will be able to work on the NVACS standards for Elementary Physical education by practicing and reinforcing movement patterns. It is time to get students interested in physical activity.
