I am very excited to begin my journey as a second-grade teacher! With your help, I can give them a safe, comfortable, and fun learning environment.
We will share the classroom as a team, not stay assigned to a single desk. Building teamwork is a learned skill and it starts with sharing your own space. I want my students to have the freedom to complete their work in any place they desire. Flexible seating allows students not only the choice of where to work independently, but also a more comfortable option. Who wants to sit in a hard chair for 8 hours? They can choose to sit on a pillow, lay on the floor with a clipboard, or sit in a Wobble chair.
The organizers are to hold supplies for each table group-since the students currently have long group tables without storage space. The fluorescent light covers will help lessen the strain on my students' eyes. Dimming the bright lights changes the entire demeanor and focus of the students- it's a win-win!
Over time I hope to build a wonderful library where students enjoy reading. I was a struggling reader when I was young, so I empathize with those students. I want to create a space that is not only comfortable but has a variety of fun books!
