Help a classroom of students in downtown Jacksonville, FL blossom into critical thinkers as they explore the world around them. Students will use the classroom and lab supplies such as crayons, pencils, glue, Post-Its and storage bags to engage in first hand scientific investigation. Students will use a combination of dish soap and baking soda to extract DNA strands from a strawberry. They will witness the densities of waters of various temperatures. And they will compare and contrast the pH of various liquids in their everyday lives. Students will use field journals to record their data and use color pencils to sketch observations and color-code charts, data, and periodic table.
