We are using the responsive classroom philosophy. This philosophy embraces sharing, trusting, communicating, and problem solving to increase academic and social skills. This philosophy also addresses behavior and responsibility. Part of this is gathering in a circle for a morning meeting. Seating is needed for this meeting and other activities throughout the day.
Having appropriate furniture will allow us to freely arrange the room as needed for engaging circle activities. Having stools that can be stacked and put aside will allow us to gather in a circle when needed and then return to regular seating when finished. With space restrictions we are in need of small easy to set aside furniture.
