I am a new teacher in a low income area. I have been co-teaching with a fantastic teacher in first grade. I am now moving on up to 3rd grade to teach English and Social Studies, and I have nothing for these amazing leaders. I would love to supply them with a classroom that they do not have to worry about feeling safe. I am creating "calm down" and "reading" stations where students can go to relax and get away from the various stress of their lives. I am creating flexible seating so they can all learn how they need to. Many of my students do not have enough food to eat, are not sure where they are sleeping each night, and live with grandparents or other relatives, so supplying everyday essentials for the classroom falls on my shoulders. I want to make sure I have everything they need help them thrive, with your help.
