My five year old students are learning to be organized and sometimes mix up their reading books with their journals and/or workbooks. My students have a bag with their leveled reading books, list of grade level sight words, and books of their choice to read. At this age students are eager learners and need many opportunities in the day to practice their reading.
The chair pockets would give students easy and frequent access to their books throughout the day. Having their bag available within seconds they can be reading anything they choose.
They can read after finishing an assignment, while waiting to be picked up from school, or during designated reading time. What’s important is their books will always be readily available.
