A classroom carpet should be a common and essential meeting place for students and the teacher. It should be that one special place where the students feel welcomed. Our classroom rug will serve as the focal point of our meeting area. Having a carpet in the classroom will save invaluable teaching time as a lot of time now is spent on directing and redirecting students on where to sit and to stay in their own space. A carpet with colored squares for each child will help my Kindergarten students know where to sit and how much space they can have around them. This will then allow everyone to stay focused on the learning that is taking place.
