Our Campus STEAMSPACE will provide problem-based learning for our students. In our STEAMSPACE, students have opportunities to be problem solvers, risk takers, critical thinkers, and innovators by taking positions on real-world problems. By working through a combination of learning strategies they discover the nature of a problem, understand the variables involved and gain a perspective viewpoint of those affected.
The ultimate goal is to attract students into STEAM careers because our society has a shortage of skilled workers in fields such as engineering and computer science, the skills students learn from STEAM are applicable to the engineering design process.
The creativity of this project will be generated through the fantastic educational opportunities directly from community settings. This project will provide students with hands-on manipulatives that will be a comprehensive multi-sensorial experience. Students will communicate, collaborate, connect, and create using their critical thinking skills to excel as both local and global students.
