I have noticed that students have trouble staying organized and it is really preventing them from completing homework and learning important concepts. Parents also have expressed concerns about not knowing what kids are doing in classes. To teach students how to stay organized, I would like to have them keep planners.
These planners will be used in every class and will help students remember what homework needs to be done and when. It will give students more responsibility and independence instead of relying only on teachers to remind them of assignments and make-up work.
Also, parents have expressed concerns about not knowing what is going on in classes and not knowing when their children have homework or tests coming up. I believe the problem is that each teacher communicated their classroom assignments and test differently and because each student has 7 different classes it is hard for parents to go and check each one everyday. These planners will help parents see what kids have to do for every class in one place.
