My 7th and 8th graders love to connect with public figures that inspire them and share their daily struggles of family burdens in the inner city of LA. In the class, they love to engage in hands-on projects that allows them to express themselves and be creative with sharing their identity to peers.
They are English Learners and reclassified English learners who struggle to build resilience and a growth mindset throughout the year as we read and write critically to prepare for Common Core testing, college, career and beyond.
