Reading is my students’ superpower! As a new teacher I am always trying new and exciting ways to engage my amazing students. We start off the school year with Book Club; as a result, I need even more books for my super heroes. I want to supply my students with as many book options as possible and I need to have at least 4 copies of each for Book Clubs to work. In this dynamic program, students learn many reading strategies including working together in their clubs as a community. Their sense of independence helped them grow reading ownership. The students felt the pride and became the captains of their literacy adventures. In our classroom students have the power to choose their books— only problem— we need more books!
