I am requesting support in pursuing professional development for my new caseload of students, as the majority of my experience has been with a radically different population. I've taught my previous students math fundamentals, such as colors, shapes, and pattern recognition. In my new role, I will need to teach students closer to general education level; they will be learning pre-algebra, algebra, calculus, and statistics. Your donation will not only help me refresh my knowledge of math instruction, but it will support meaningful, reflective, and modern math practices for my students. The courses I hope to pursue will support my students in shedding "math anxiety" and provide practical applications for math concepts. After taking these courses, I hope my students will never have to ask "why do I need to know this?", and instead be able to creatively solve problems.
