The students in my 4th/5th grade learning support classroom are all identified with disabilities and often struggle staying seated for long periods of time. Granting them the opportunity with flexible seating options in the classroom will help my students stay focused for a longer duration and will enable them to reach their full potential in the classroom. Adding tablets to the classroom will have technology read to my students and it will entice struggling readers to actually want to read while being exposed to print disguised as a fun piece of technology. Additionally, tablets can foster a greater sense of independence in the classroom. Students can find meanings to unknown words on their own and allow them to take writing prompts beyond the realm of the world they know.
