Students perform better when they are learning in a warm, organized and welcoming environment. This project will help to enhance our literature library space and flexible seating arrangements.
I created this funding opportunity at the behest of my students who want to expand our reading time with organized books and flexible seating arrangements in our classroom.
We are lucky to have a classroom library filled with books! However, these books need some organization. My students have a difficult time finding a book of interest during our reading block. Purchasing new bins will provide a way to organize the books into various categories, making it easier to find desired book titles.
Currently, our library has a few pillows and carpet spaces to sit on during independent reading time. The bean bags, tree stump stools, and soft seats will allow students the opportunity to choose a different type of comfortable seat and this provides more flexibility and choice for them.
This project is requested by my students and for my students. Help them make their classroom a place they are eager to return to and reluctant to leave!
