Each student enters kindergarten at a different level. Some have been reading, drawing, and writing during preschool, while others have never been in a school setting before.
Providing students with engaging learning activities can be the difference between cheers or tears in a kindergarten classroom. Practicing letters and sounds can be repetitive for some, and challenging for others. The letter bins we are hoping to get will provide a hands on resource for all students to actively engage with, while learning essential skills. They will sort objects according to their letter sounds, and even build their vocabulary skills while doing it.
The products we have chosen for the classroom all serve an important purpose in kindergarten. The Getting Ready to Write Gumball game builds students' writing stamina, and pencil grip, all while practicing counting, and patterns. Students will also work on social skills such as waiting for their turn, and competing against their friends. The new train set will hopefully replace our broken one, and it is always a class favorite. The children create an imaginative community where they play, laugh, and work together.
The perfect kindergarten classroom is a place where learning and fun coexists throughout the entire day. I hope you can help us create this environment in our classroom next year!
