I know my request for 5 laptops is costly, however, my students DESERVE access to technology just like their suburban counterparts. Being part of an urban district, my school and students, struggle with the accessibility and availability of new and evolving technology.
In the coming school year these laptops will allow my 4th grade students to access digital texts, articles (NEWSELA) and audio books, watch visual media, research topics and compose research papers, with the capability to link up to the smart board for even more interactive engagement. Often students do not frequent the library so the ability to research information for projects in class is more efficient. In addition, my students will be able to access differentiated assignments and activities I create for each of their individual needs.
Using technology makes learning more interactive, hands-on, and makes the classroom a more appealing environment for my students overall success!
