Students with multiple disabilities learn best when they are able to interact with the environment using all of their senses. By funding this project, you will help make learning more accessible to students with significant disabilities through art.
Art is a highly preferred activity for my students, however, we currently do not have the material for meaningful engagement for all of my students.
Paintbrushes with thicker handles and jumbo crayons allow for easier gripping for students with physical disabilities. Additionally, sponges, toy cars, bingo dabbers and bubble wrap allow for alternative styles of painting. Shaving cream, sensory paints, clay, bubbles, and rubbing plates help students express themselves, while getting needed sensory input.
Accessible art will help engage my students in learning and build their self-esteem. Thank you for considering to donate to this cause.
