The musical instruments will make a difference in our classroom by helping to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress and help children regulate their emotions. Creating and playing music gives children with special needs a sense of accomplishment while toning cognitive areas. Because music is a universal language, able to be interpreted regardless of language barriers, it creates a unique connection.
Music will also enhance the way children can process language and speech and improve concentration
Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy.
In addition to the developmental benefits, simply put: music bring us joy. Just think about listening to a good song in the car with the window down on a beautiful day. That's joy.
