Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. Having flexible seating will give the students a sense of freedom in their environment. Giving my students this freedom will allow them to learn a sense of higher-order thinking skills.
Flexible seating like these wobble cushions and chairs, bean bag chairs, stadium seats, book bins, balance balls, and yoga cushions will allow my "kids" to wobble, rock and bounce, which increases the oxygen flow to their little growing brains.
This also keeps their minds more focused and alert. By giving my "kids" this opportunity of flexible seating, it will allow them to have a voice and a choice of where to sit in our classroom that best fits their learning style.
