I am a first year kindergarten teacher at a low-income, Title I school in Norfolk, Virginia. 100% of our students receive a free breakfast and a free lunch. I first fell in love with the scholars at this school during my student teaching. These littles stole my heart and I'm so grateful to have a full-time teaching position to continue to get to know more and more of them. Despite facing numerous barriers to education, both in and out of school, the scholars at this school impressed me from day one. Their kind hearts and willingness to try pushed me to be a better teacher and show up for them, day after day, no matter what. I know that each and every one of my scholars will find their home in my classroom. I'm so excited to watch them grow as I support their learning!
